General Paddling Talk / LOCAL KNOWLEDGE WANTED: Tharwa to Point Hut conditions now at c. 3m?

Hi there, we're out of towners looking for a short rec paddle on the weekend, we are reasonably exp rec paddlers not whitewater, in plastic rec boats 4m. What are conditions like for this section? is it hairy or reasonable at this flow? Is the pull out point easily identified (we DON'T want to end up in red rock gorge !!!)  thanks
