James and I are planning on going to Penos next weekend. We might spend saturday and/or sunday up there.
If its just one day, we're thinking saty.

Is penrith still open?

The last few years they have shut down over winter due to lack of rafting trips, might pay to check before a long drive to look at an empty concrete drain.

Ok

What is going to be runable on Sat?

Kangaroo Likely to be to low?

Clyde likely to above min.  I have not paddled this and keen for some advice.

Shaoalhaven at Hillview
Currently at 1.08.  Very keen to paddle this on Sat.  If we have no further rain is it likely to be too low?

Childowlah Is there something wrong with the guage?

Wingecarribee River at Greenstead Likely to still be runable.  Has anyone done this recently?  I have seen the post on adventurepro.  Looks like a sweet run, although a long day? ;D

Still on the rise but will probably be on the low side sat, time will tell.  You will have a better idea tomorrow evening.

Nope, they are dropping it like it's hot.

Good chance it will be running.  First time down is a long day.  If you are with someone that knows it well can be much shorter.  Great run, not sure on your paddling level, it is pretty remote and solid grade IV.  Watch out for new wood.  Chances are there will be a few people there on Saturday as it hasn't run much recently.  Get on it early.

Hi Griff, climbing at Nowra this weekend, was long term plan which will be real fun but pity it coincides with runnable rivers. Im keen for Childowlah sometime on the next weekend if there is still releases happening or even a midweek daytrip the week after as I have a bit of TIL accued for purposes of paddling ;-) Here's hoping we get some local rain soon!

Clyde is likely to disappoint you. More of a cross country wilderness experience than a WW paddle.

Spent Firday afternoon at Childowlah with Ro and Nick.  Lots of water and some of the rapids / holes / waves where washed out.  Great to get wet and we found a couple of great waves towards the end of the day.  I understand that the current environmental release will continue until Tues.  Good option to park and play ;D

Spent today (Sat) on the Shoalhaven.  It was my first time.  gauge was about .85 which was excellent level for first time.  Thanks Mick, James and BJ for a great day.  This is the best river that I have paddle so far.  Great scenery, clear water and some great rapids. ;)

Same here, first time on the shoalie. Thanks for a sweeeet day lads.

Back on topic for this thread. (ie the heading) Mick (and The Brad?) and I are going to Penrith tomorrow. Water is confirmed for 10:30 to 3:30. 8)

Scott you coming? Sorry for short notice but had to see what the rivers were doing today.

Just a bit of motivation, Peno closes end of June for the winter, and rec paddling times are pretty short next weekend. So i'm classing this as the last Peno trip for the season! :'(

The first day at the drain in my new Project X was a bloody ripper, especially after lunch ;D ;D

It was a quite day which made us feel like VIPs with almost exclusive use of the course!
