LOCAL KNOWLEDGE WANTED: Tharwa to Point Hut conditions now at c. 3m?

Hi there, we're out of towners looking for a short rec paddle on the weekend, we are reasonably exp rec paddlers not whitewater, in plastic rec boats 4m. What are conditions like for this section? is it hairy or reasonable at this flow? Is the pull out point easily identified (we DON'T want to end up in red rock gorge !!!)  thanks

This is a good easy section, even at 3m. Be careful of trees in a few places. There is one bigger grade 2!rapid near the end which can be portagednriver right or you can go down an easier line on river left missing most of the rapid. Easy to crossing from there. Crossing is very obvious. Make sure you e got all the gear u need helmet, pfd,  etc. have fun!
